Best places in London to celebrate St Patrick’s Day 2017

17th March 2017

March 17 is fast approaching and with it, the ultimate Irish party.  St Patrick’s Day in 2017 promises to be bigger and better than ever. But you don’t have to flock to Ireland to join in on the colourful celebrations. Dust off your green garments and perfect your Guinness-drinking skills for a St Paddy’s themed weekend in London.

The Bloomsbury Club Bar – St Patrick’s Day Seisiún

Paying homage to its Irish roots, The Bloomsbury Club Bar has teamed up with Ireland’s Dingle Distillery for a raucous evening of Irish-inspired entertainment and cocktails. You’ll be able to sample their exclusive single malt whiskey, only available at The Bloomsbury Club, and there will be Irish music throughout the evening. There are even rumours of an Irish dancing flashmob; so keep your eyes peeled.

Father Ted-A-Thon

Give a deserving nod to Ireland’s most loved TV series, Father Ted, this Friday and make tracks for South London. The Grand in Clapham is going to show three side-splitting episodes of the program in a bid to celebrate all-things Irish.

Paddy’s Jam at Pop Brixton

If your name happens to be Patrick, the 17th of March is your lucky day. Why? The S11 Bar at Pop Brixton is giving anyone with this Irish derived name a free pint of Guinness between 5 pm and 7 pm.

The Celtic Connection Sessions

Though they’re not from the Emerald Isle, Scottish pop-up Dram and Smoke are giving a whiskey and music laden nod to their Celtic roots over Paddy’s Day weekend. It’s the perfect place to raise a glass to the Irish as Talisker and single malt whiskey dominate their menu, and an old fashioned folk band provide a lively musical backdrop to the night. Although the food menu is centred around traditional Scottish grub, you’re guaranteed a craic-filled evening all the same. Tickets are £10 and include a welcome cocktail and snack.
