Ministry of Sound
Documenting the most iconic brand in dance culture.
Ministry of Sound first opened its doors in 1991 and to this day, remains one of London’s most iconic dance venues.
We collaborated with the South London media giant, alongside Coalition talent and Raymond Gubbay to create an international live tour; 'The Annual Classical.' A tribute to 90’s dance classics, reimagined by a live orchestra and fronted by Judge Jules.
Our iconic brand documentary currently opens the orchestral live events across the globe.
Our leading documentary - ‘The History of Ministry’ opened the live show at Londons' Royal Festival Hall to 1,500 people in 2019. A long-form piece of content documenting the history of the club, label and brand from 1991 through to the present day.
Weaving between historic club footage, split-screen interviews & contemporary b-roll of the club.
The creative behind the documentary uses co-founder Justin Berkman as the core narrative and links through ten different DJs all telling their version of the story simultaneously.
How do we create a historic yet modern timeline to show the true development of dance music?
The documentary’s opening segment is built around the iconic Ministry of Sound logo. The rings break away from the icon and are used to house the years as the documentary counts back to 1991. Accompanying stock footage from relevant years glitch into place throughout the animation.
The documentary opened to a sold-out show at the Royal Festival Hall.
An audience of 3,000 enjoyed the documentary. It was then commissioned for a further three nights at the O2 arena.
